The west part of Tuscany is characterized by its factories and ports, especially Livorno. One of its main attractions is the Tower of Pisa. In south, the old city Volterra hosts one of the most beautiful museums and monuments of medieval architecture in Italy.
West Tuscany is crossed by many highways, like Fi-Pi-Li from Pisa to Florence. Ideal for tourists is still S67 because it passes near all the attractions on the Arno Valley.

San Piero a Grado church is another great sight to visit in the area. This beautiful church from the XI century is build in the place is believed that Saint Peter walked for the first time in Italy in 42 AD. Unusual to this church is that is has no facade but semicircular apses in the east and west side.
